2012 concerning VA stops

Dear Guests of American River Taxi,

Special Note From American River Taxi regarding Alexandria, VA stops:

We have been asked by many to open service to Alexandria for Baseball boat and other services. We at American River Taxi have been working hard however, we need your help.
Over the past years, a single operator has continued to monopolize the use of the port and the government of Alexandria has refused to allow a profitable model of service allowed at their docks.

Please contact Mayor Euille (http://www3.alexandriava.gov/contactus/mailto.php?id=352) and let him know you support open market business in Alexandria and want more options for water taxi service.

Currently, the committees that control access to the area have allowed only 4 visits per month to the site, and have cited reasons for not allowing access to
space issues due of their current deal with the Alexandria based water excursion company. Even when the contract was up for renewal, and an opportunity to ration space for other
operators was available, the committee choose to use the reason that they would wait for the waterfront plan to complete which can still be up to 5 years.

We at A.R.T want to serve you better, and usually keep our business issues to ourselves, but when we receive a large amount of mail from our guests looking for more options, we decided we need to let the public take action. Please contact us for further information.

2011 SEASON CLOSE

Dear Guests of American River Taxi,

Our goal in starting up this year has always been to serve the public.
That is why it is with great sadness I have to announce an early season close instead of our ambitious End of December operation.
With less and less guests on the vessels now and with the medical leave of our daytime captain, we have to close down by November 1 in order to ready the business for a strong 2012 season.

Those of you that are Group-on and Living Social certificate holders, we will extend the voucher until May 31, 2012.
We start up again in the spring with new routes, more vessels and new crew. It has been a great year for us to find our place in the DC market and truly be DC’s water Taxi system. As we move forward and as the developers continue their work on the many new communities spreading out along the waterfront, we encourage everyone to support their efforts and always support our local DC businesses.

On behalf of my crew, myself and all of our partners, I thank you for the smiles, the talks, the rides, the baseball games, the celebrations and most importantly, your support of American River Taxi.

Have a warm and wonderful winter.
Stay tuned to our website for the new online ticketing system, passes and promotions as we thaw out in the spring to start up again in serving DC.

FIRST ECO-FRIENDLY WATER TAXI SOLUTION FOR METRO DC

WASHINGTON, DC, MAY 10, 2009: American River Taxi (A.R.T) will launch the first eco-friendly water taxi on the Potomac River in the Metro DC area in 2010 Q2. After extensive research and development, A.R.T, Partnered with an eco-friendly shipbuilder and local partners will provide a reliable, convenient and affordable water transportation solution with connections to mass transit.

Addressing the main concerns of area residents, A.R.T’s design is a transportation system to help alleviate the increasing delays caused by overcrowded highways and address an appropriate level of sensitivity into the environmental impact of a river transportation system. It is through partnerships with other green companies in manufacturing, propulsion and mass transit connections that the vision of a new Potomac River becomes closer to reality. This will allow commuters and tourists alike to see more of the city in an enchanting way without the stress of traffic and pollution.

American River Taxi, a service of Capital River Services, LLC, seeks to serve the infrastructure and economic development of the Potomac River waterfront by providing a green solution water taxi service that will encourage water transportation as a common extension to the commuting and transport solutions of the Washington Metropolitan Area.
